The Remaking of Iran - Museum Exhibition, London, 2009
When I started at Real Studios, one of the first exhibitions I worked on was this temporary exhibition for the British Museum. The exhibition covered the rule of Shah Abbas during his reign in 17thcentury Iran.
The exhibition navigates you through the four major sites important during his reign, using paintings, carpets, porcelain and silks to tell the story. Part of my role was working on the detailed drawing packages for the job and looking at the layout of these different objects within the exhibitions.
THE REVIEW
“Shah ‘Abbas: the Remaking of Iran is a triumph of curating and display, an experience as much as an exhibition” “If exhibition designs can ever compete for prizes, this would be a formidable contender.”Boyd Tonkin, The Independent, 15.03.09
At the heart of the exhibition are four large monoliths, which use projection to immerse the viewer in detailed elements from each of the shrines.
