Casino, Bar & Restaurant, London, 2009

Another project I worked on whilst at Real Studios was the concept design for a casino, bar and restaurant in the heart of Mayfair in London. The brief asked for a complete re-think of the way that these three spaces were used and set out.

The main concept was to pull the restaurant into the space, creating enclosed niches where you could have a meal but also enjoy from the casino atmosphere.

Whilst working on the spaceplans, I was thinking of how the space would look, and below are some of my concept sketches.

 Below is the suggested floorplan. This showed the restaurant positioned like a runway in the space. This meant that it could benefit from the atmospheres of both pit areas, whilst still offering privacy to the diners.  The bar also reflected the idea by having a central seating island.

Below shows an alternate layout, grouping the pits together but also using the restaurant booths as an interesting backdrop to the casino floor.
