RECPETION, LONDON, 2010
Working within a tight budget, the brief given to Real Studios was to refurbish a dreary primary school reception area into a vibrant space with a strong visual personality that would appeal not only to children but parents as well.
This playful space, makes use of bold colours and shapes, creating large areas to showcase students work, along with comfortable seating areas. Pin-boards and lockable display shelves mean that work can be changed frequently.
The organic lighting ceiling feature was enhanced by numerous paper flowers, painstakingly designed and cut by myself. These were then coloured and decorated by the children from the school as part of an art day, run by myself and one of the Real Studios directors.
The Sketchup drawings below were shown to the client as part of the concept presentation. These were then also used at the initial stages of detail drawing.
